Every Jew Has To Read This Jewish Book

Dear Ms. Zrihen,

12/13/11

I am really enjoying reading the book
,Every Jew has to read this Jewish book
by Mia Greenberg.  The genre is definitely Humor.  There is no story and all the plot
events that you see in a regular story it is just jokes all over the place their is also no main character nor a protagonist. The tone is very funny and hilarious the mood of the book is also really funny. A theme that appears in the book is a funny comedy. There is no moral.  The author’s purpose is to entertain people. His perspective is that you will have a laugh.

“What do jew do on shabbat, go to church.”  This was written on page 30.  I picked this passage because it shows that there are jokes.  The passage is significant to the story because it shows that it is a joke book.

I used several reading strategies throughout the book. Before reading, I did the 5 finger test, or check the vocabulary I did not understand. During reading I reread jokes I had problems understanding what they want me to know from that joke, and I also categorized the jokes from information categorized on each joke. After reading I picked the funniest joke and read it again, (I still laughed) I also recommended it to a couple of my friend because it was just very humorous.(I would recommend this book to anyone on planet Earth

Figurative language I saw in the book: personification, simile, oxymoron and some alliteration.

I would rate this book 10 stars because it was very funny and the sarcasm used in the book made me even laugh more than what I expected.

                                                          Sincerely,

Bar Peretz

  1. Dear Bar,

I liked how you actually put some figurative language.
was there another reason that you think the book is a 10/10?
What were some examples of oxymoron?
Is the author biased or not?
How does the passage affect the reader?
Why would you recommend the book?

  2. Dear Juan,
Thank you for your comment it was nice.
Another reason I rated it the way I did was it had great detail and supporting facts.

An oxymoron was he could fly like a bird.
    The author was biased.
It affects the reader in many ways one it made me have a bigger impression of my self and 2 it made me feel better in a smarter way.

    Sincerely, B.P
