Dear Mrs.Zrihen, rj # 16
11/28/11
I enjoyed every part of reading Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. The genre of this book is fantasy. The story takes place in random world. The main character of the story is Artemis. The main character is round and dynamic. The first thing that happens a boy tries to steal a painting. The main problem is it is in a high security bank. The tone or mood of the book is serious. A theme that appears in the book is that theft is not worth it. There is no moral is not to steal, because I'm not very far in. From my point of view, I can see that the robber is well prepared. The author organized the story through a time order (so far). The author’s purpose is to entertain people. His perspective is that in life, you should not take things from others.
I did not find any passage that was that meaningful to me in the book I only found one and I wrote about it in my last readers journal.
I used different reading strategies by all the circumstances when having the book. Before reading, I skimmed and scanned, and I flipped through the pages looking for text features. While reading, I would quiz myself on what I read after each story and re-read parts I didn’t understand. After reading, I still read question myself and go over it, and I discussed it with a family member who is reading the same book.
A response starter would be if I were the main character I would have not really made such a bad choice unlike Artemis.
I would rate this book a 10/10 because it amused me and was very adventurous not so many books are like that.

Dear Bar,
ReplyDeleteYou did a really good job. I like how you explained why you like rate the book a ten out of ten. You should NOT say that a response starter is.... and you should make it much much longer!! Some questions I have though are:
How did using all of the reading strategies help you???
What as the point of view?? ( That's wrong and it's not supposed to be your point of view)
Sincerely,
Melinda Hebert
Dear Bar,
ReplyDeleteHow did the book amuse you?
Was there another reason you rated this book a 10 out of 10.
Do you think I would like this sort of book.
What were some q's you used to quiz yourself?
Were there any vivid vocab words you had trouble understanding?
What was your favorite part of the book?
Why would you change the choice Artemis made?
Otherwise your rj was good.
Keep it up.
From,Isaac
Dear,Melinda,
ReplyDeleteI i will try to fix those things for next time although I think I did pretty good.
I wrote each one how they helped and why I did it that specific way.
I dont really understand what you told me to do with the point of view.
sincerely, Bar Peretz
