Dear Mrs.Zrihen, 702 RJ #4
I have just finished reading THEODORE THE ABDUCTION BOONE by John Grisham it is a great book it was one of the best books I read over the couple years it is does a nice job explaining things I picked this book because it was a recommendation and also it said #1 international bestselling author so I knew the author would be great.I picked this book because it was a recommendation and also it said #1 international bestselling author so I knew the author would be great. I also picked this book because I read the synopsis and it attracted me like what happened to the girl? Did she run away? Did someone kidnap her? Were her parents mean to her? Does it have to do with Theodore? All these questions leave you clueless thats why I wanted to read it. I used 2 strategies before reading I skim and scanned for the literary elements, and I also looked for text features. Two strategies I used during was I reread what I did not understand, and I also summarized to myself some chapters. Two strategies I used after reading was I summarized the part of the book that I finished, and I also tested myself to see if I understood what I read.
"I am so sorry that it happened I wish we would just find her immediately Elsa told Theodore"
This passage is very meaningful to me because i felt really bad that she was like the popular girl in school everybody knew her so when people turn on the news they were like oh my g-d she goes to my school even if she was not in the grade. She was the kind of girl everybody wants to hang out with loving, caring and looks good.
The genre of this book is realistic fiction that means it is based on a true story that could of happened. The characters are round dynamic the protagonist is Theo Boone, the antagonist is not exactly told, the setting is in Strattenburg, Pennsylvania that is where Theo and his friend lives. The setting to the story just right away leds to the conflict which is Theo's friend has went to sleep at night but in the middle of the night when her mom decided to check on her she was not at her bed. I did not get as farther than that in the book I will finish it next week. The tone is very suspending and the mood is pretty depressing. The pattern of organization is chronological order/time order I did not see any figurative language throughout what I read.
A response starter is what if the people knew what happened would it have solved the problem easier or even harder because it would all be considered having contact with her.
I rate this book a 10 out of 10 as I said it was one of the best books I read it made me draw conclusion until I had almost nothing to think about.
Sincerely, Bar Peretz
Dear Bar,
ReplyDeleteI have a question who recommended this book to you?
Also you should pay attention into putting your commas and periods.
Something else is that at the beginning of you journal you repeated things like:
" picked this book because it was a recommendation and also it said #1 international bestselling author so I knew the author would be great.I picked this book because it was a recommendation and also it said #1 international bestselling author so I knew the author would be great."
What were some text feautures that you found on you journal?
On what page did you find the passage, because when I read the book I might want to read that part?
WATCH OUT WITH THE CAPITALIZATION OF THE "I."
What was the point of view?
Were there any foil in the story?
what was the social condition?
What was the theme?
Was the story Man.VS_____?
But everything else was really good,
Loking forward to next week's journal.
Sincerely, JUAN 702
Dear Bar,
ReplyDeleteYou did great on your reader's journal. I really want to know how the book ends. Your reader's journal didn't include everything on the rubric.
What was your favorite part of this book?
How long is the book?
What is the author's POV?
What type of conflict is it like man vs ______?
Was the problem internal or external?
What is the moral of this book?
Dear Bar,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your journal. Although you did forget some important elements. What was the moral? What was the exposition and the rest of the plot structure. Aslo would you recommend this book to me?
How long was your book? I didn't really understand what was going on. Can you please do more freewriting. That way I can understand it better. Finally, when did the story take place?
Thank you.
Sincerley,
Isaac Paley 702
Dear Juan, thanks for the heads up I will try to fix it next time. I will also try to put more commas and periods to fix my punctuation. By the way because I did that is for people to know that this book is long so I did two journals on it I did not do that just to copy. What did you mean when you said watch out with the capitalization of I. Also there was not a specific point of view that was throughout the passage so I did not write it.
ReplyDeleteSo I cannot really answer your question about the point of view. There were just like two foil character they did not even really mentioned there name one was a mailman the other was a taxi driver. The social conditions were regular in between. The theme is pretty sad the book is said in a very sensitive way. The story was man VS. Self.
Sincerely ,Bar Peretz
Dear Erika,
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting on my blog. I will take the advice that you wrote for next time. I will try to post on your blog next week so I can give you some advice as well. I liked how you asked me a lot of question so I know what to write about. I will also use my rubric next time I do an RJ.
To begin with, my favorite part of the book is in the beginning when the police called Theodore at 4;00 in the morning. Also the book was 240 pages but I had a week ahead when I read my first book so Mrs.Zrihen told me I have an extra week to finish the book. Also there was not a specific point of view that was throughout the passage so I did not write it. The conflict in the story was man VS. Self. That means it was an internal conflict. The moral of this book is to be nice to your family and they will be nice to you.
sincerely,
BAR PERETZb
Dear Isaac,
ReplyDeleteI will take your advice for next time. I will also read the rubric more carefully next time. I wanted to tell you thank you for posting on my blog last week nobody commented on my readers journal it left me out. I will also look at your blog next week maybe I can give you some advice. Another thing is I like how you wrote a nice comment.
To begin with, this book was 240 pages but I had a week ahead when I read my first book so Mrs.Zrihen told me I have an extra week to finish the book. I will try to do more free writing for next time. It is a mystery it doesn't say were the story actually took place. Once again thank you for commenting on my journal this week. :)
